Advanced band sawing method - CMC of HFA-1000

We, at Amada, have devoted our unique technology and user-oriented concepts in the development of our machines to meet market needs hence the a successful result of our CTB-400 and CNC band saw series with its latest cutting technology.

Of the large sized band saws as well, the market demands operability that enables computer controlled optimum cutting at the same rate and in a clean working environment. In response to such demands, Amada developed HFA-1000 CNC which has the potential to be the most popular machine in an era when automation and un-manned control will be widespread.

Cutting conditions refined over many years, are included in the software.
As abundant data based on Amada's development experience are preset in the software, optimum judgment is made automatically to be best suited to the material being cut and the desired shape. In other words, no matter who operates the machine, the same work is done within the same time and in addition, a longer service life of the saw blade is made possible.
The language for the screen display can be selected from Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The software also deals with the steel type data bases required by the industrial standards of various countries, such as JIS, AISI, DIN, AFNOR, UNI and BS. The blade break-in process after replacing the saw blade is also automated. Therefore, the moment the data for the material to be cut and cutting conditions are inputted, the cutting completion time is indicated on the screen, thereby it is possible to control the process on the cutting site.

Programming function accepts free settings of cutting dimensions and a number of products.
It is possible to input as many as 30 types of the material data (quality, dimensions, shape) and 10 kinds of length and the number of the products in its memory.
Another feature is the interrupt function that enables one to enter an interrupt command for interrupt cutting without canceling the automatic operation.

When the IC card (option) is used, all the data including the cutting history data can be transmitted to other personal computers in the office for effective production control. Also,
utilizing this function, it will be possible to cope with the more advanced control systems expected in the future.

Two types of auto index cut function take the place of the manual dimension alignment procedure.
1. Auto trim cut function
The positioning procedure for initial cutting which has been performed manually is automated completely. When the end of the material is detected by the light beam, all you have to do is to place the material in the machine which then executes the entire procedure.
2. Auxiliary index cut function
Cutting that requires no accurate measurement such as trim cutting can be executed at any position by pressing the buttons on the operation panel. Automatic cutting mode can be restored and continued after
performing such cutting once.

Crooked cut detector has a cutting rate correction function.

When cutting becomes crooked due to the worn tip of the saw blade and it approaches the tolerable limit of crooked cut, the cutting down feed rate is corrected automatically. The machine continues automatic cutting while correcting such crookedness and when correction fails to prevent cutting from exceeding the tolerable limit, the machine is stopped automatically to minimize wastage of the material.
